JoJo, Relationships and a Thank You

How many of you have seen Tommy Boy? If you have not, then I suggest you get away from the computer more and down to the local Blockbuster and get it. Although, companies nowadays are making it easier and easier for a person to become a recluse and never ever have to leave the house. Not even for groceries. And people wonder why there is a ever increasing problem with obesity in the country.... I will save that for another rant, but don't go after the fast food places, you get exercise going to them, because they don't let you order online and deliver it to you! You actually have to leave the house and get in your car or walk. Heaven help us. Ok I am getting off topic.... back to Tommy Boy. If you have not seen it, the go to Netflix.com or you tube and watch it there.

There is a scene in that movie with Chris Farley and David Spade where they are in the restaurant where Farley was talking to the waitress about him being a salesman and why he sucks at it. (If you seen the movie, then you know what I am talking about. Otherwise click here to see it. ) I can relate the sale he is talking about to basically any relationship I have ever had.

I meet someone, anyone. We talk a few times, maybe play some golf or hang out at a bar. Pretty simple so far. Well then that's where JoJo the idiot circus boy takes over along with case of anxiety mixed with hyper activity. I don't know what snaps inside and causes this. Maybe its the fear of rejection. I don't know. All I do know is I do what I have to do to make the person like me. I go to extremes most of the time and end up hurting the relationship in the long run. Basically this quote from the movie sums it all up: "I'm like Jojo the idiot circus boy with a pretty new pet. Now the pet is my possible sale. Hello there pretty little pet, I love you. And then I stoke it, and I pet it, and I massage it. Hehe I love it, I love my little naughty pet, you're naughty. And then I take my naughty pet and I go [makes ripping noises as he tears apart the roll] " Don't know anymore that I can say about it.

There are a few relationships that I have that somehow survived the "JoJo" effects. These people are the best friends that anyone could ever have. I am honored to have them as my friends. I feel guilty when I call them and unload on them, cause I don't want to always sound like I am complaining. I still have a hard time comprehending the fact that these people like me for who I am. The compliments they give me usually take a while to sink in. (Hitting me with a hammer may help, but not suggesting that anyone do that!) What makes me feel good is when the call me and ask me for advice and talk. Or they have a problem and want to know my opinion. I know they are being genuine and not taking advantage of my good nature. If you have friends like this, hold on to them, don't let "JoJo" or any other circus idiot persona ruin a good thing!!!

Ok I am also going to admit that I am a guy and have a hard time telling others how I feel about them. I know you are all shocked. What can I say, I am a wimp. An emotional wimp, physically I will still kick your ass. So for those of you that have figured out who this is (or I was threatened to divulge this blog site, you know who you are!) listen up cause I may not say this again....

Thank you for being a friend (Sing along, you all know the theme to The Golden Girls!)

---Thank you for being a friend,Travelled down the road and back again. Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confident. And if you threw a party-,Invited everyone you knew-,You would see the biggest gift would be from me And the card attached would say,Thank you for being a friend---.
Ok seriously, Thank You. I appreciate all you do and I want you to know that I love you all.
